What happens after you hit send
Jared reads the request himself and follows up to talk it through — what you are renovating, roughly what you have in mind to spend, and when you would like it done. That first conversation is short and its only job is to work out whether the project and the company are a fit. Nobody is going to pitch you.
If it looks like a fit, the next step is a walkthrough at the house. That visit is free. It is also where an estimate stops being a range and becomes a price, because standing in the room is the only way to see where the plumbing stack runs, what the floor does underfoot, whether the electrical panel has spare capacity, and how a crew will get materials in and debris out. After the walkthrough you get a written scope of work with a price, a timeline and a payment schedule. You can read the whole sequence on our process page.
Three fields is genuinely enough
Name, phone, and what you are renovating. Everything else on the form is optional, including the email address. If you want to add detail, the things that actually help are: what is driving the project and by when, roughly what range you have in mind, whether you plan to live in the house through the work, and whether anything is already known to be wrong — a leak, a soft floor, a panel that trips. Photos help enormously and you can text them to the same number afterwards.
Storm and water damage
If you are dealing with active water or storm damage and an insurance claim, call rather than fill in the form — (843) 718-8177. Say on the call that it is a claim, because an insurance repair is scoped against the adjuster's estimate rather than against a design, and that changes what we need from you at the start. Before you call, it may help to read
Two questions come up on nearly every first call, and both are answered in more depth elsewhere on the site. The first is what a project like yours costs — the cost guides break budgets down by scope tier and by area, so you can see what drives a number rather than just the number. The second is how the price is written and what can change it: we write fixed-price and cost-plus contracts, and on a fixed-price contract three documented things can move the total — a change you ask for, a selection above a written allowance, or a concealed condition found once something is open. Each one is priced in writing and signed before that work proceeds. The terms are on the fixed-price guarantee page.
Where we work
Two divisions, one license. In the Charleston Lowcountry that means Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, downtown Charleston, West Ashley, James Island, Sullivan's Island, Isle of Palms and Summerville. On the York County and Charlotte SC-side, it means Clover, Lake Wylie, Tega Cay, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, River Hills and Indian Land. Every town page names the permitting authority for that town. If your address is near the edge of one of those areas, call and ask — the answer is a two-minute conversation, not a form.
