Refacing replaces doors and drawer fronts and finishes the exposed cabinet surfaces while retaining sound boxes. It can change the appearance without rebuilding the whole cabinet layout. The inspection should establish which parts can stay and which need repair or replacement.
The honest test is two questions. Are the boxes structurally sound and free of water damage — which in a humid climate is worth actually checking under the sink rather than assuming. And does the existing layout work for you. If either answer is no, refacing is the wrong tool and we will say so.

What should I budget for cabinet refacing in York County, South Carolina, and what changes the price?
Start with the cabinets you plan to keep. In Fort Mill, Rock Hill and the surrounding York County area, a useful refacing estimate identifies each door and drawer front, the finish on exposed box surfaces and any damaged sections. Painting, refacing and replacing the boxes are different purchases; compare totals only after those choices are clear.

Ask for a refacing option and a replacement option using the same cabinet list when the condition or layout makes either reasonable. A new finish does not repair a failing box. A replacement quote should identify what is being removed and what the new layout changes.
